Now, maybe it’s because I’m always extra sensitive when I’ve just come back from visiting the family, but I find it difficult how disconnected people at home can be to the lives of us GlobalGrandparents! It’s nobody’s fault but a tough one when there’s so much you want to say but many can’t relate to it so we just don’t go there.  Is this a common feeling?!  Mid conversation I find myself drifting off, imagining myself back in Bondi….maybe next time I’ll do that surf lesson…what would they all make of that!?

On reflection these past few weeks, we again realise how lucky we are to spend so much quality time with our grandchildren down under.  Because we don’t take it for granted, we make the time together even more special, and treasured.  It has been lovely hearing from so many other global families and GlobalGrandparents around the world who are in the same boat and share the same sentiment – we’re not alone!!
